Mission For Christ Holiness Temple
In March 2004, Pastor Deborah L. Smith and Deacon George B. Smith established the Mission For Christ Holiness Temple. Initially, their ministry held services in their residence until the congregation’s growth necessitated the acquisition of additional space. Through divine favor, they relocated the ministry to 1480 5th Avenue, where they dedicated themselves to serving the community and local churches with unwavering faithfulness.
During their tenure, the ministry engaged in various outreach ministries, including pantries, all-night and breakfast programs, weddings, funerals, dedications, and more, guided by the Holy Spirit. Their aspiration was to secure their own building within five years. Four years later, Pastor Smith encountered 27 E. 128th Street, a building that God had blessed them with. While filled with excitement, they sought confirmation from the Lord through fasting and prayer. One night, the Lord awakened Pastor Smith, reciting Isaiah 40:31, “But they that wait upon the Lord, shall renew their strength,” which became their motto. The scripture and the mission’s name were prominently displayed on the building.
Saturday choir rehearsals played a pivotal role in nurturing the young people and providing guidance to Sister Linda, who consistently demonstrated faithfulness in teaching and assisting. This was a source of immense encouragement for the congregation.

The church demonstrated remarkable resourcefulness in their new ministry. They provided sustenance, clothing, and warm blankets to the homeless, visited domestic violence shelters for Bible studies and rehabilitation programs, and conducted various ministries until the building was sold. Despite these challenges, God remained faithful, and a benevolent friend, the late Pastor Alfonso Watson, offered them a space that enabled them to continue their services within his building.
Shortly thereafter, the pandemic struck, leading to profound changes. However, God consistently provides solutions from seemingly insurmountable circumstances. The church adapted by utilizing Zoom virtual platforms and Facebook to reach their congregation.
Presently, they gather once a month at the United House of Prayer, expressing gratitude to God for opening that door. They recognize that without His divine support, they would have been unable to succeed. Consequently, they celebrate King Jesus and express their appreciation for His 19 years of leadership, anointing, and empowerment. All praise and worship are directed to God.
They extend their sincere gratitude for your assistance in elevating the name of Jesus. They appreciate your support and fervently pray that you may continue to be protected by the blood of Christ.
