Pastor Deborah L. Smith, and Deacon George B Smith began the ministry named Mission For Christ Holiness temple March of 2004. The first service was held in their living room until the ministry grew, and more space was needed. The Lord gave them favor and they moved the mini
stry to 1480 5th Avenue, there they served the community and local churches faithfully. During their time serving the lord, several people became members and were baptized, delivered and saved. Mission for Christ Holiness Temple did outreach ministries, pantries, all night and breakfasts payers, weddings, funerals, dedications and more under the leading of the Holy Spirit. Their prayer was to be in their own building within five years, four years later Pastor Smith stumbled upon 27 E. 1 28th St, God had blessed them with a building. They were excited but still needed confirmation from God. They began to fast and pray. One night the Lord woke Pastor Smith up saying Isaiah, 40:31 ‘But they that wait upon the lord, shall renew their strength’ their motto. MISSION FOR CHRIST HOLINESS TEMPLE was on the building as well as the scripture. Isaiah 40:31 Saturday choir rehearsal helped grow the young people and sister Linda was faithful to teach and help, this was a true encouragement
The church were able to be very resourceful at their new ministry. They feed, clothed and gave warm blankets to the homeless. They reached domestic violence shelters, had bible studies, and rehabilitation programs. They did multiple Ministries until the building was sold, but God is faithful, a blessed friend the late Pastor Alfonso Watson, offered them a place that allowed them to have services in his building. Not long after came the pandemic, and so many things changed, but God always makes a way out of no way, they started to utilize zoom virtual platform and Facebook. Today, they come together once a month at the united house of prayer and are grateful to God for opening that door, they realize had not it been for the Lord, who is on their side. They would’ve never made it, so they celebrate king Jesus, and thank him for 19 years of experience in leadership, anointing, power, and all the praise and worship is to God. They thank you for coming to help lift the name of Jesus. They appreciate you and their pray is that you would continue to be covered by the blood.
